Bliss Sofa
Science indicates that climate change is melting Earth’s polar ice caps and that humans are to blame for their own inevitable, catastrophic end. But rather than panic or succumb to the elements, Mother has made it possible to sit back, relax, and continue doing nothing … in Bliss!
Bliss is a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind art statement and design piece created for Mother Goods. Part of a conceptual line of floating furniture, the Bliss sofa and ottoman set is made for a world where rising sea levels make the idea of floating furniture increasingly relevant.
Bliss comes with a repurposed-pine paddle attachment, rocket flare, and emergency strobe. The accompanying ottoman contains a user’s manual, sunscreen, and martini mixology kit complete with olives.
The Bliss Sofa debuted at Tuleste Factory’s NYCxDESIGN 2023 exhibition, “Harmonious Proportions.” Purchase of this piece contributes to critical discussions about our collective future and provides financial aid to USA for UNHCR to benefit displaced persons, including those displaced in the context of climate change.
